Islamabad: After a gap of several years, regular air service to Chitral is once again on the horizon. Under a strategic partnership between South Air and Bejan Resorts, work is underway to launch five regular flights a week between Islamabad and Chitral. The development is expected to reconnect Chitral more effectively with the rest of the country while giving a major boost to tourism, local businesses, employment and sustainable economic growth in the region.
On the occasion of signing the strategic partnership pact, Bejan Resorts founder Anwar Aman said: “Our vision has never been limited to building just a resort. We want to play our part in developing Chitral as a complete tourist destination. Reliable air connectivity is one of the most important foundations for turning this vision into reality. Our partnership with South Air is an important step towards making Chitral more accessible to tourists from across Pakistan and, eventually, from around the world.” He added “Tourism can only succeed when the entire region benefits from it. Better air connectivity can create opportunities for all sorts of businesses and communities across Chitral.”
