CHITRAL: The court of District and Sessions Judge lower Chitral, Tanveer Iqbal has awarded life imprisonment along with a fine of half million rupees to a drug peddler Muhammad Ejaz of Jughoor village Chitral town.

The accused was apprehended by then SHO Munir UL Mulk with over 13 Kilo hash (chars) in his car at Chitral bazar in Feb this year. After investigation carried out by SP Sattar, the crime was proved beyond doubt and the sentence awarded.

Residents of Chitral specially parents have appreciated the decision of the court as leniency towards drug trafficking and peddling was causing the youth of Chitral to fall prey to narcotic addiction which included hash, ice and heroin. .. CN report, 20 Aug 2023
