CHITRAL: Three persons including the Vice Principal of Frontier Corps Public School Chitral, lost their lives when their vehicle fell into a ravine near Mastuj bridge. The deceased VP Saeed ur Rahman belonged to Ursoon village. Other deceased include Sepoy Hafeezullah and Lance Naik Rashid ul Hasan. Two injured namely Education Officer Ibrahim and sepoy Samiullah were shifted to CMH Peshawar. Later on the deceased were seen off in a millitary funeral and sent for burial to their ancestral villages.

CHITRAL: A number of rallies were held in Upper and Lower Chitral to support Gen Pervaiz Musharraf against the death sentence awarded to him by the specially constituted court bench for hearing the trial. In a show of solidarity with the ex President, some members of the All Pakistan Muslim League (APML) offered themselves to be hanged instead of Gen Musharraf.

CHITRAL: A Chitrali student Ahad Ali Jan residing in the US has been admitted to the prestigious Aerospace Engineering in Virginia Tech USA. Ahad Ali Jan belongs to Booni, upper Chitral.

CHITRAL: Muhammad Hayat Shah has been appointed as the Additional Deputy Commissioner (general) District Lower Chitral and Fida ul Karim has been appointed as Settlement Officer Chitral. Both the bureaucrats belong to Chitral.

CHITRAL: Gas leakage from cylinder used for heating room has caused the death of two persons in Chitral bazar. The deceased are, police Sub-Inspector Rehmat Uddin and his relative Naseer Uddin. The two relatives were staying in a residential room in new bazar. The deceased belonged to Hinjeel valley of Karimabad. Funeral prayers of the deceased was held at the police lines and body dispatched to home village for burial.

Dear Sir,
Through your esteemed news paper I wish to request the District and Sessions judge Chitral to pay attention to the lack of facilities for general public visiting the courts for attending their legal cases. No provision is made to facilitate the elderly in particular who are visitors to the courts in good numbers as I saw recently during my presence at a civil court. Myself being a senior citizen I felt there should be at least basic facilities in the court area, like decent wash rooms and ample chairs to sit down, without making another person leave the chair for you. The local residents term it as a conspiracy against the government and it is the government which is responsible for good governance and management of it’s machinery.

CHITRAL: Senior journalist Gul Hammad Farooqi got pick pocketed in Peshawar while travelling in a public transport which costed him his valuables including ID cards etc and a high end mobile phone along with Rs 20000 cash. GH Farooqi complained that the police were reluctant to register an FIR against the unknown culprits.

CHITRAL: Shahzada Ibrahim Wali of Masuj? currently residing at Muldeh Chitral passed away after a protracted illness. He was a sober and popular personality. He was the elder brother of Professor Dr Shahzada Ismail Wali.

CHITRAL: Sher Rahim of Ujnu Torkhow former president All clerks Association has passed away and was laid to rest in hometown. Bereaved family includes Rahmat Rahim,Aftab Rahim, Sikander Rahim and Aftab Rahim beside other family members.

CHITRAL: A 25 year old educated (intermediate) man committed suicide by shooting himself with a shot gun. According to initial reports, the man hailing from Ujnu village of Torkhow tehsil was suffering from depression.

CHITRAL: One Muhammad Irfan son of Muhammad Kashif of Ayun village was sentenced to death by the District and Session Judge Chitral Javed Ur Rahman. The convict had been charged for killing both his father and mother on 13 June 2015.

CHITRAL: Mother of prominent personality and social worker Rahmat Ghafoor Baig of Bakamak Chitral town, has passed away at age 93. The bereaved family includes Rahmat Ghafoor Baig, Muhammad Nadir Baig, Mussarat Baig (sons) and Naveed Ahmad Baig, Faisal Ahmad Baig, Avais Ahmad Baig and Fawad Ahmad Baig (grand sons).
