Scientists ‘have achieved quantum supremacy’, in a discovery that could change the world.

Scientists claim to have achieved ?quantum?supremacy?, a breakthrough that could change the course of computing history.

Google researchers say they have broken through the milestone, meaning that a?quantum computer?has undertaken an operation that classical computers cannot.

Quantum supremacy marks the first step in a field that researchers claim could go on to change the world. Quantum computers are theoretically capable of doing work much quicker than the computers we use today.

IBM researchers have already criticised Google?s claims of a breakthrough, suggesting that the new discovery is not as profound as promised. But the new research has finally been published in the journal?Nature, and lays out the workings of the long-rumoured breakthrough.

The Google researchers state in the paper that their computer, known as Sycamore, is able to conduct a task in 200 seconds that would take around 10,000 years on a traditional system. .. Read complete story from Source

Learn this, and your life will change forever!

I?d like you to imagine a garden.
In this garden, the soil is always rich with nutrients and what you plant, it will grow. There is rain and sun so you don?t have to worry about anything.
You can plant anything. There are no restrictions.
You can plant roses or you can plant poison ivy. You can plant tomatoes or you can plant nightshade, a deadly poison. What you put in, as a seed, will eventually grow into something much bigger.
This garden is your mind and the seeds you can plant are your thoughts.
Your mind is a fertile place where the thoughts you plant, will grow and make up for what your life is.
Or as the old passage from the Bible goes, from the book of proverbs, chapter 23, verse 7:
?As a man thinketh in his heart, so is he,?.
Your thoughts, your convictions, manifest the surrounding reality.
Your life, good or bad, is nothing more than a reflection of the thoughts you?ve planted in your mind and nourished. These thoughts became behaviors. Behaviors became results.
You are where you are right now because deep down in your heart, this is where you wanted to be, no matter how sad or unfair this may sound.
This principle is one of the oldest spiritual laws in existence. It?s also one of the best known. You may know it under a different term. This is ?you become what you think about?.And you can find this in all of world?s religions.
Some variation of this exists in Hinduism, in Christianity and in basically every other major religion. It?s found in all belief systems, as the one used by the Chinese. It?s as much of a universal law as gravity. Long before books existed, wise people understood that our thoughts manifest our reality.
It works on two levels.
First, your beliefs are connected to the universe on a quantum level. We manifest what we really believe.
Let me make this clear though.
You don?t manifest what you think you believe. You manifest what?s in your heart. If you believe you deserve unhappiness and pain, then no matter what you say, this you?ll get.
A great deal of people believe they have positive thoughts when their inner voice is always negative and destructive.
That voice will always win. Maybe this is why LoA fails for so many people ? they?re trying to grow trees of prosperity and success while planting seeds of doubt and pain and suffering.
It doesn?t work this way.
You get what?s in your heart. The universe will manifest it. But what?s in your heart is the truth and we may not always know of this truth.
Life doesn?t give you what you intended.
Life gives you what you ask.
And while many people intend for wealth and joy and health, their thoughts are of poverty and sadness and despair. Since this is what they?re planting, this is what the universe is manifesting.
Second, your thoughts lead to beliefs.
Your beliefs lead to actions.
Your actions lead to outcomes.
Your outcomes leads to your destiny.
The thoughts you plant in your mind will determine how you act, on a level that?s so subtle that you can?t even perceive it. Who you are, is the consequence of the thoughts you?ve adopted.
It?s hard to realize this.
It?s on the same level of breathing.
You realize your breath only if you pay attention. You realize your behavior and where it comes from only if you analyze it. But everything you are comes from the thoughts you?ve once planted in your mind and then let them become a part of you.
So when you plant positive thoughts, you get positive results.
When you plant love and happiness, your behavior will reflect love and it will create happiness for yourself and for others.
When you plant thoughts of prosperity and wealth, your behavior will create wealth and prosperity in the world.
Think of this like the captain of an airplane. An airplane is huge, carries hundreds of passengers and weighs tens of tons. Yet, you will find just one or two pilots in the cockpit, controlling this huge machine.
So is with your life.
Even if your behavior is infinitely complex, there are just a few thoughts that control all of it and if you replace those thoughts, everything will change for you too.
The thoughts you plant in it will both manifest reality as in creating reality itself and shape your behavior to create the results you want.
Both are important.
This world is a 50 ? 50 place.
The universe can manifest the opportunities you require at this moment but you must act to take advantage. If luck knocks at your door, you still need to open the door.
It?s like in this old joke.
A fisherman is caught up in a storm. His boat is sinking. Desperate, he prays to God.
?God, please save me, I?ll be good, I?ll repent, just save me?
A few minutes later, a boat shows up.
?Hi there, do you need any help??, the good Samaritan asks him.
?No, no, God will save me?, the fisherman answers.
Perplexed, the savior leaves.
Ten minutes later, the same things happen. Another boat shows up. They offer to help him. The fisherman refuses saying that God will help him.
Eventually, the boat sinks, he dies and goes to heaven. There, face to face with God, he asks ?
?God, why did you left me to die? I prayed to you and I promised I?ll repent for my sins?.
God looks at him and says ?What are you talking about? I?ve sent you two boats?.
This is a joke, but this is how life works too.
We manifest opportunities but you must take advantage of these opportunities. If you are a real estate agent and you want to close a huge deal, your thoughts will manifest this opportunity.
The universe will align the people, places and circumstances for this to happen.
But these people, places and circumstances won?t come to you in your living room. You must still act and do something.
Or maybe you want to find the love of your life.
Thoughts of love and appreciation will manifest your ideal partner but your partner won?t knock at the door and ask you for a date.
The universe is like a tree that offers you the fruits you need, in infinite abundance, but you still must grab those fruits from the tree.
And it all starts with your thoughts, with your beliefs.
Make a commitment now to fill your mind with positive thoughts. Make a commitment to think only thoughts of love and joy and wealth.
At first, it will be hard.
If you?re used to plant only poison in your mind, it will take a while until you take it all out. But once you do, you?ll notice something incredible happening. You?ll see how you?ll walk into the right circumstances.
You?ll find yourself in the right places, at the right time, to get what you want.
How can I help you do this?

Changing Nature of Work

Published on: 07/08/2019 | Comments: 2 comments

?.. by Shah Karez

The Changing Nature Work is the theme of the World Bank Report 2019. The report deals in depth with the subject. An attempt is made here to briefly highlight the main issues for the general reader and particularly for the youth of today so that they may be able to see the challenge through the window of technological development and decide about the pursuit of knowledge and skills according to the need of the future. The government has to face the challenge upfront.

In a nutshell the report underlines the need to enhance human capital in accordance with the demands of the technological workplace. This is an age of rapidly changing technology, the skill sets that are considered to be useful and marketable today are also rapidly changing. The speed of this change appears to be alarmingly high in the developed and industrialized countries. In the growing economies also the change is clearly visible. The demand for certain types of non-routine functions in the workplace is increasing such as cognitive and social behavioral skills. While on the other hand robots appear to be taking over the routine job specific functions. Yet a third scenario demands a combination of different skill types.? ?Mr. Andrew Puzder, a former chief executive of a restaurant chain, referring to robotic functions said, ?They (robots) are always polite, they always upsell, they never take a vacation, they never show up late, ?there?s never a slip-and-fall, or an age, sex, or race discrimination case.?

Certain routine tasks may be difficult for machines to perform such as managing human beings, inter personal relationships, organizing team work, advanced research and analytical work. Machines can easily replace tasks that are routine by type and can be codified. The skill profile in a future workplace would be different from what it is today. The new profile would not be limited to the narrowly defined job specific skills. Skills such as adaptability in a multi-cultural setting, critical thinking and problem-solving ability, creativity, and curiosity are considered to be transferable across jobs. With increasing innovations and sophistication, the old home appliances are rendered out of fashion thereby shrinking the jobs related with repair maintenance of such items. At the same time innovation, industrialization and technological progress amounts to creating new jobs in millions thereby increasing the demand for new set of skills. The report points out that the change is high in the developed world but in low and middle income countries also people may be employed in jobs that did not exist thirty years ago. For example 4 million app developers, 400000 internationally certified organic farmers and 100000 data labelers are employed respectively in India, Uganda and China.

The report says that the Lady Health Worker Program in Pakistan led to 15% increase in fully immunized children under 3 years old in 2008 as compared to 2000 with positive effects on children?s cognitive abilities and pro-social behaviors due to nutrition supplementation and encouraging mothers to engage in responsive play with children up to age 2.

While going through the report one can feel that innovation and technology are blessings in disguise. It is agreed that increased reliance on technology will cause disruption, the example of robots taking over routine functions is a case in point, yet there is a silver lining as people with the required qualifications and know-how of new technology will have more job opportunities. Therefore the youth of the country who are currently at the beginning of schooling must be groomed with the go

The prevailing education system in our country may not be able to produce as much relevant skilled manpower as will be required in the future job market unless the system adapts itself to face the upcoming challenges.? Prudent and foresighted educational planning will prepare the human capital to suit the changing situation; otherwise the cost of disruption will be very high leading to high rate of joblessness, rampant poverty and disgruntled youth.

Since Health and Education are considered to be the building blocks of human capital. As a developing economy we need to take quick action and make critical investment in people?s health and education on emergency basis to catch up with the accelerating innovation and to enable our youth to keep pace with innovation and competition in the future job market.

It is a challenge for the PTI government and at the same time pleasing to note that developing human capital is in the agenda of the current government. The sooner it is implemented the better. At the same time it is important to strengthen the social safety net so that the technological disruption and new working patterns do not affect the population adversely. In tandem with massive skill development, the government must guarantee minimum level of social protection across the board. For this purpose there is need to bring about the right kind of reforms, such as stabilizing wages in the informal sector, ensuring social safety at each level, controlling exploitation of child labor, overhauling taxation policies, redirecting subsidies to help in developing human capital.

The government must also encourage the private sector and the NGO world to come forward and play their role in aligning the human capital with the changing need of the time.

al of their future in view since they will be working in jobs that, in the words borrowed from the report, ?do not even exist today.?

There will be nothing like permanency in job, but the gig economy, that does change frequently, dictates the nature of job; innovation necessitates new type of skills thereby forcing one to continue learning to keep pace with the market demand. Each passing day without new learning pushes the people backward and no person can keep pace with the change without having the required skills. .. Shah Karez, Chitral work07 Aug 2019

Manifesto of Change

Published on: 30/07/2018 | Comments: 1 comment

In order to implement its electoral manifesto for change, the Imran Khan led government will have to introduce drastic changes in the governance system of the country. In the first place, it will have to stick to a zero tolerance policy for massive corruption in the bureaucracy and the corridors of power. The misuse and misappropriation of tax payers? money in the name of protocol and to maintain a luxurious life style by the power elite must be done away with in line with his party?s much touted policy of austerity.

Change will come, when the postings and transfers of the government officials and recruitments to various cadres are made purely on merit basis without any political interference. Change will come, when the MNAs and the MPAs will devote their whole time to raising issues of public concern on the floor of the respective assemblies and refrain from influencing postings and transfers of heads of departments for petty political gains.

Change will come, when audit of the ministers and heads of departments is carried out to ensure that no embezzlement, misappropriation of funds and misuse of vehicles is done incurring loss to the public exchequer. Change will come, when the defaulters are dealt with in accordance with the law and accorded due punishment without any fear or favour and barred from reveling in luxuries at the expense of tax payers? money.

Change will come, when the huge villas and mansions in the possession of ministers, governors and public servants are evacuated to let them on rent to multinational companies or converted into universities and public libraries in the best public interest. The step as already hinted at by the PM elect in his victory speech will go a long way in bridging the gap between the haves and the have-nots. Change will come, when the per day expenditures on the PM House and the President House running into millions are cut down to implement the policy of austerity from atop. Change will come, when there are no tea parties and sumptuous banquets in public offices and 5-star hotels at the cost of the public purse.

Change will come, when the dispensation of speedy justice to the common man is ensured through judicial reforms. The backlog of cases pending in the courts has touched the figure of 1.8 million and the poor of this country have to go from pillar to post to get justice. Change will come, when the NAB conducts impartial inquiry into corruption cases and bring back the looted money from the corrupt mafia of the country. Change will come, when the government institutions are strengthened and made accountable for any acts of commission and omission. Red tapism has become an anathema for the general public. Change will come, when drastic measures are adopted to redress public grievances at every level.

Change will come, when the trade deficit is brought down to the minimum finding new avenues of exports. Change will come, when Industries are developed to create job opportunities and to generate revenues; and new dams are constructed on a war footing to cope with the energy crises and the impending threats of water scarcity. Agriculture is the backbone of our economy. Change will come, when this sector is modernized to achieve maximum production. Change will come, when the big landowners are brought into the tax net and levied income tax on their annual products. Change will come, when the tax evaders are apprehended to ensure transparency in the procedure of tax collection.

Change will come, when the education and health are prioritized to ensure human resource development. Access to free education and health care will mitigate the deprivations of the poor lot a great deal vis-?-vis contributing to the socio-economic development of the country. Uniformity of education system will bring the deprived section of society at par with the elite class in intellectual development. It will shed the thick clouds of ignorance from society paving the way for enlightenment and pragmatism.

The role of media is very important as it highlights the problems faced by the public and points out weaknesses and drawbacks of those at the helm of affairs serving as liaison between the public and the representatives. Change will come, when there is no attempt whatsoever by the government to stifle or gag the freedom of expression on the media given the fact it has played a significant role in educating the masses about their fundamental rights and giving them voice against the highhandedness of the powerful in our society.

Change will come, when the culture of political victimization is discouraged and the voice of the opposition benches is heard for the smooth running of the government machinery. Change will come, when the use of unparlimentary language is denounced and the parliamentarians are extra cautious in choosing words when speaking at public fora. There are many more good things for the coming government to take in her stride to bring about the real change. Let?s hope the IK led government lives up to its electoral manifesto of change in letter and spirit. .. Khalid Pervaiz, Booni, Chitral 30 Jul 2018

Primitive election system: Pakistan will never change it appears!

Published on: 15/06/2018 | Comments: No comments

Chitral : While the world gallops ahead in progress, adapting latest scientific facilities and technologies, Pakistan continues going round and round in a circle of no joy. Elections after elections, we see ‘more of the same’ instead of any substantial difference. Primitive methods are used for conducting elections, starting from selection of electables by political parties regardless of their functional qualifications to messy election campaigns to primitive method of polling votes.

It is unfortunate that political parties do not want to change the system or at least bring about reforms in the polling procedures of the existing one? They are happy with the outdated rickety dispensation and only concentrate on how to make their way to the corridors of power by hook or by crook in this faulty polling system. No political party is interested in adopting machine voting through biometric system as it will bring transparency and fairness and political parties are by default averse to transparency and fair play.

The future of a prosperous and progressive Pakistan eventually lies in adopting Meritocracy, however?until that happens at least the election system can be upgraded with the help of modern technology. The biometric enabled National ID cards can be used to cast votes for any candidate across Pakistan from any polling station. In this way there will be no wastage of votes and 90 percent votes will be polled in Pakistan measuring the true choice of the people compared to constituency/polling station limited system which are easily rigged and exclude the opinion of a large number of voters not present at the polling station.

It s unfortunate that no body wants to bring about core changes in the systems in Pakistan and every leader is focussed on getting into power by hook or by crook and take his turn to milk the famished country. .. CN report, 15 Jun 2018

Transparency in government affairs: The easiest change we can bring about

Published on: 08/03/2018 | Comments: No comments

Chitral: The whole nation is fed up with primitive, inefficient and corrupt methods of conducting day to day affairs of? the government. Most of the traditions from the imperialistic legacy of the British are in vogue. Any change seen from there have been for the worse – i.e facilitation of corruption and inefficiency in governance.

Though it may seem easier said than done,? corruption can be controlled if not totally eliminated by bringing absolute transparency in governmental affairs. The AAP government of Delhi has decided to live stream all government official meetings so that the public can see what is going on.? Read details here?. In Pakistan, if legislation is made and it becomes mandatory to post all government meeting agendas and decisions (except the extremely security sensitive ones) there will be gross reduction in mismanagement and corruption as people can see the decisions made for them on a live web page and in daily printed newspapers.

The public can appreciate/criticize/suggest and give their input about it decisions being taken on their behalf.? In the present state no body knows what happened in such and such meeting and what decisions were made. People come to know only after the damage is done. All bureaucratic cum elected member’s decisions should be put to scrutiny before the public. The age of social media and technology should be used to maximum to gather best suggestions from intelligent people . Rubbish can be trashed of course.

We must adopt new methods to solve our old problems. “Repeating the same things again and again and expecting different results is being foolish”, to say the least. .. CN report, 08 Mar 2018
