.. by Syed Mehdi Bukhari

As the blue waters of Karomber Lake bathe in the sun’s golden rays, I immerse myself in its warmth.

?My Love!
I am the receding sunshine on the mountains,
the running wind on the lake,
the fading chant of the shepherd.
I?m the story that’s over
Don?t call me or recall me for I?m gone now once and for all.?
(Translated from a Wakhi song)

  1. Thanks Syed Mehdi Bukhari Saheb for your very comprehensive article about Boroghul Valley, the highest and most secluded border region of Chitral. Hope your article will open up new tourism potential for the area as the poem in the start up to the article and the beautiful pictures will motivate people to come to Boroghul during warmer months of the year.
