CHITRAL: The provincial govt of KPK has re-fixed transport fares accross the province after reduction of one ruppee per liter in the diesel prices. An example is the notification of the Peshawar to Chitral flying coach fare says it is Rs 431 and for Airconditioned buses it is Rs 504. The irony is that the actual fares charged by the transporters is not even double but three to four times more than the notified prices.

By issuing notifications which are irrational and whiich it cannot enforce amounts to making a mockery of the writ of the government. The biggest problem in Pakistan today is not inflation, rather the breakdown of governance, and the above notifications are a glaring example of it. — CN report, 05 Nov 2020
