CHITRAL: A grand collective wedding ceremony was held in Chitral town under the auspices of Alkhidmat Foundation a subsidiary organisation of Jamat Islami. The ceremony held at the parade ground was presided over by the Amir Jamat Islami in which fifteen under privileged couples tied the knot with grace and decorum. The main donor for the noble cause was a philanthropist from Peshawar Haji Luqman uddin.

It may be mentioned that earlier such arrangements of collective wedding ceremonies were held within the Ismaeli community which proved a successful experiment. Now the Sunni community in main Chitral town is also adopting it, which is a good augury for the society.  .. CN report, 19 Oct 2021
