Poor governance-The biggest problem of Pakistan

CHITRAL: Pakistan, a country which is so rich in natural resources like fertile land, abundant sweet water, mountains of minerals, high quality brains in all fields, and a bustling youth population, forever remains on the edge of the precipice of default and failure – why? The most logical answer that comes to mind is that this country has no viable system and whatever broken system it has, is furthered undermined by a failed dispensation of governance.

This governance deficit manifests in rampant corruption, weak institutions, and a persistent failure to uphold the rule of law, leaving the country perpetually vulnerable to instability and underdevelopment. Political leaders and bureaucrats generally prioritize personal gain over public welfare, resulting in mismanaged resources, crumbling infrastructure, and a disillusioned populace. The lack of cohesive policy making and accountability has allowed issues like insurgency, economic disparity, and inadequate social services to fester, while a disjointed civil-military dynamic further complicates effective governance.

Without a governance overhaul, rooted in transparency, meritocracy, and public accountability, Pakistan risks remaining trapped in a quagmire where its potential is perpetually overshadowed by its problems, proving that the core issue is not merely a lack of resources, but the failure to govern them wisely..
