Open the
tunnel immediately, demand public
Chitral -- The Lowari tunnel has been closed for traffic for the
last ten days causing much problem to the travelers and goods
transportation. Whereas the tunnel is closed to the general public,
people who have connection with the authorities are allowed to pass
through with their vehicles. One such privileged person who passed
through the tunnel recently told our correspondent that there was
not even a remote sign of any work being carried out or about to be
carried out inside the tunnel. Why the tunnel has been closed
causing avoidable hardship to the already underprivileged people is
a puzzle that needs to be solved. People say if the present
government cannot provide facility to the people it should not take
away what Pervez Musharraf gave to the the Chitralis.
