PIA sacrificing Chitral flights for other routes

Chitral -- Despite the adjustment of the route of PIA flight from Islamabad to now via Peshawar, which has increased the occupancy rate three fold, the PIA management has now started cancelling Chitral flights on flimsy excuses of weather or technical grounds where the weather actually is perfectly OK and the aircraft fully serviceable. Actually priority given to Chitral flights is the lowest and whenever an aircraft is required on any other route for any reason Chitral flight is readily sacrificed. When PIA management was approached to know the reason, they said Chitral's public representatives are indifferent to the situation of the flights and never bother to protest any mishandling, therefore Chitral's flights are the easiest to sacrifice when aircrafts are needed elsewhere. -- CN report -- 29 May 2012.
