Chitralis welcome Minister

CHITRAL, 23 Apr 08: Provincial Minister for Population welfare Saleem Khan who belongs to Garam Chashma, got a warm welcome when he arrived in Chitral on his first official visit to the district. The Minister was travelling by road. After staying overnight in Dir, the minister first visited the Lowari tunnel project and expressed satisfaction over the ongoing work. He then addressed welcome gatherings at Ashret and Drosh where he stayed for lunch. 

District Naib Nazim, Nazims belonging to the PPP and workers had gone to receive the minister at Ashret. Later on his journey to Chitral, he was greeted by people on the roadside and he individually met every body and thanked them. Welcome arches and gates had been set up for him at various places. Addressing a reception at the Governor Cottage, he thanked the people for electing him and vowed to serve them. He warned the beurocracy and heads of  various departments working in Chitral to serve the people honestly.

The Minister criticised the Member National Assembly Shahzada Mohiuddin for changing loyalties and said the people of Chitral reject his decision to join the Forward block because he had campaigned in the name of Musharraf and only some days back in a press conference had said that he owes his electoral victory to President Pervez Musharraf, and now he is ditching him for personal ends, which is embarrassing for his voters.

The Minister is to visit  Kooh,  Karimabad, Arkari, Garamchishama,  Sheshikoh, Kalash valleys on April 24, 25,  26, 27, 28 and 29 respectively.  (GH Farooqi, CN report)
