ATR flies to Chitral

CHITRAL,12 Jan 07: The French ATR plane which has replaced the Fokker in PIA's fleet made a debut touch and go flight to Chitral Friday morning apparently on a training mission which indicates that the ATR flight would get underway for Chitral any time now.

The ATR plane however has the capacity of carrying half the number of Passengers compared to the C130, which means that Chitral would need four ATR flights per day (two from Peshawar and two from Islamabad) to make up for increased passenger rush due closure of the land route connection with the rest of Pakistan.
