Eid moon controversy: Chitral goes with center

Chitral: As usual Eid moon sighting controversy again cropped up in the country and the KP provincial govt announced Eid day on Sunday 19 Aug in defiance of the ruling of the central moon sighting committee which had declared 20 Aug as Eid day.. Chitral however sticking to tradition, chose to follow the central committee call, ignoring the decision of the provincial government. This also shows the mindset of the Chitrali people who have always been more comfortable with the center than any provincial setup.-- CN report,19 Aug 2012.
